Uses of Wheatgrass
- Juicing for Detoxification: The primary use is growing the seeds for 7–10 days and juicing the young blades. The high chlorophyll content (approx. 70%) is believed to help cleanse the liver and remove toxins from the blood.
- Nutritional Supplement: Often called a “natural multivitamin,” a single shot of wheatgrass juice is nutritionally comparable to roughly 1kg of green vegetables. It provides vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, along with essential minerals like iron and magnesium.
- Digestive Aid: Wheatgrass contains enzymes that assist in breaking down food and may alleviate issues like bloating or constipation.
- Anti-Inflammatory Treatment: It is used to help manage symptoms of chronic inflammation, such as arthritis and joint pain.
- Skin and Hair Care: Consuming the juice is claimed to slow aging, tighten sagging skin, and even restore grey hair to its natural color due to its dense antioxidant profile.
- Pet Nutrition: Beyond human use, wheatgrass is also a safe and revitalizing superfood for cats and rabbits.
